Coffee, for a lot of the world, seems to be everywhere. From the United States to Uganda, Estonia to Ecuador and Argentina to Australia coffee is the go-to beverage for billions of people of all shapes, sizes and races. People enjoy the taste, richness and experience that comes with drinking coffee.
Next time you’re in the line waiting to buy a takeaway coffee do something that very rarely happens. As you place your coffee order ask the barista/server to add the cost of another coffee to your bill. Then tell them “that the extra coffee is for the person behind me in the line. Just tell them that its on me”
I’ve done this a few times before. The reaction of the person behind you when they reach the counter to place their order is initially “What?!” and then quickly turns into a “How good is that. So nice” A total stranger has bought them a coffee for no reason. Usually, once you have placed your order, you move to the side and wait for the coffee to be made and your name called out. This leads to a conversation with the person behind you. All I can say is that the world is made a little bit better when two strangers can meet and have a conversation that may not have happened without the gift of coffee 🙂
Here’s to coffee!
